featuredCarbonNet Slovakia
We're excited to announce: CarbonNet Slovakia - open-access CO₂ transport & permanent storage backbone for Western Slovakia.
ENGAS and SaveGas SR have officially submitted a formal request to the Slovak Ministry of Environment to treat the CarbonNet Slovakia initiative as a project of national interest and to jointly define a coordinated, accelerated permitting pathway for CO₂ infrastructure (routing, EIA, and storage permitting under Act 258/2011).
CarbonNet Slovakia is a project name (not a separate legal entity). The framework is a phased, open-access backbone built once and scaled for many industrial emitters: • Phase 1: an anchor CO₂ chain based on a high-purity industrial stream (2027/28 target, indicative) • Scale-up: additional emitters and a cement cluster connection enabled via a second hub (2030s)
Our focus at this stage is procedural clarity: predictable permitting, one-stop coordination, and a reusable MRV/permitting template that can be applied across sectors.
Our focus at this stage is procedural clarity
If you represent an industrial emitter in Western Slovakia and would like to discuss potential future connection (optional for Phase 1), feel free to reach out.
More to come soon…
